The method I used was to use calipers to measure the diameter then multiply by pi (mmm pie) or do it in Google.įor my Sightron this gave me a nice round 80mm You can do a couple of things, least technical is cut a bit of paper, wrap it around your turret, mark it off and measure. Ok so I have started to write it up but screenshots take ages!įirst thing is to figure out the circumference of your scope turret. 223 on my sightron with 1/8th turrets but I've not double checked the figures yet as I wanted to prove the concept. These print directly and exactly, no faffing with printing percentages or anything, I just popped these out on my inkjetĭefinitely some finessing to do with them, I also need to create a colour wrap for the actual turret to make it clear which range colour I am reading.

In the end I used the free tool QCad, now I've got the learning curve out the way these can be made relatively quickly. I tried excel at first (I use it a lot for work) but it just isn't a precise enough tool for this. When you generate your gcode, are you looking at the bottom of the gcode editor to make sure there are no errors? That file is attached as Clean and that's how a rounded rectangle should look in BCL. Then I used LibreCAD to round the corners (I don't like how QCAD does it). I loaded your file into QCAD and deleted the table top object and redrew it in the same location as a polyline. See my version in the attachment Clean (it doesn't matter what direction the arrows are going in this case). Your table top polyline corners do look like the polyline corners I make. I'm not sure your Bureau_1_32_snijden.dxf file is still not corrupted Bert. Let me know when you get some time we'll do a screen share with and I'll have a look. Many things are tied to each other working correctly so, when you run into a problem, you should stop and try and solve that problem before moving on trying to do something else.Īgain, if you can't successfully load a DXF file, there is NOTHING you should be doing with that file until you can load it successfully. If you're a BCL user (I'm saying this to the folks reading this), you must know what the welcome msg is and what it means!! If you don't, please check my sticky thread here: Mostly when they can't get a welcome msg upon connecting, they just keep going forward and try to load a file to generate some gcode to send to their laser and then wonder why it won't work. I'm not saying you are doing this, but too many users of BCL, keep trying to use it when they have an issue. In fact, with DXF loading issues, I'd just delete the toolpath file and build a new one (after you've solved the initial DXF load issue). If you can't do that, don't even try to load the toolpath file. I'd first focus on trying to load the DXF successfully Bret.
